CSEM develops and tests innovative solutions in coin cells before scaling up to pouch cells. The facility features several climatic chambers and testers for both cells and packs, enabling comprehensive evaluation. Additionally, CSEM engineers are actively engaged in advancing battery management systems, focusing on enhancing SoX estimations.

Within the NEMO project, CSEM contributes to both software and hardware domains. On the software side, efforts are focused on improving state of charge (SoC) and state of power (SoP) estimations, leveraging existing expertise to achieve precise measurements even under load through the BESTIMATOR framework. In terms of hardware, CSEM is enhancing its cell management system (CMS) with active cell balancing and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) capabilities.
